The goal of the OREO project (Advancing personalized prevention strategies for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and associated comorbidities that utilize existing IT technologies and novel AI based tools) is to develop a digital health platform supporting patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) in their daily disease monitoring and treatment. The main novelty of the platform is a multimodal COPD exacerbation prediction algorithm, which would enable timely intervention and prevention of possible adverse outcomes.
The Polish consortium is responsible for development and integration of several platform components, algorithm design and training and conducting the platform’s pilot study in Poland.
The project is carried out by an international consortium consisting of:
- Centrul IT pentru Stiinta si Tehnologie Bucharest, Romania.
- Warsaw University of Technology Warsaw, Poland.
- Istituto Nazionale Di Riposo e Cura Per Anziana, Ancona, Italy.
- Jagiellonian University Medical College, University Hospital, Dept. of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Krakow, Poland.
- Mälardalen University Västeräs, Sweden.
